Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost?

By far the most frequently asked question we get is “How much does it cost?” And the simple answer is…. Probably more than you expect!

While we absolutely love Reality TV like The Block & Selling Houses Australia, the reality is it takes a lot more work than those shows portray.

We will however, find something that fits within your budget and you pay for your garden in stages. You don’t have to do everything at once. Many of our clients decide to their front yard and come back the next year to do their backyard.

There’s nothing better than a beer and BBQ on a summer’s day on your deck and a beautiful yard for the kids to run around in. It’s worth it in the end. We promise!

When Can You Start?
That’s great that you are thinking of booking with us!

We are very busy for most of the year and are very grateful to our customers for keeping us busy. That means new clients generally have to wait a 3-4 months before we can commence work.

To book in a start date we require a 5 – 10% deposit. Most jobs start very close to the projected start date as we usually allow for delays in works.

How long will you take to finish the project?
The short answer is probably longer than you expect!

Every job is different and the time it takes to finish job depends on the complexity of the job. When we book in your work for you, we also include the approximate construction time. This may vary depending on weather and unforseen circumstances, but gives you a good idea on what to expect.

It is good to note, that we are not the type of landscapers that rush our work to get the job completed quickly. Instead we focus on building quality landscapes that will stand the test of time. If this is the type of landscaper you have been looking for… well you are in luck!

I have no idea what I want. Can you help?

The best thing is for us to come out and visit your home to get a sense of the space and surroundings. We can discuss options and run ideas past you. If you decide what you would like, we can provide an obligation free quote.

The alternative is for us to provide you with a landscaping plan. Prices for a design start from $899 plus GST.

It is always a good idea to look on social media sites such as Instagram and Pinterest for ideas too.

I like what you suggested, how do I request a quote?

Just shoot an email to [email protected]

How long will it take to receive our quote?
This depends on the size of the project and complexity of the job. If it is something simple, a quote may take approximately a week or two. If it is more involved it could take three to four weeks.

The beauty of a small family run business is that you are dealing with the director every step of the way. Blair is the person responsible for quoting and also the person managing and constructing your landscaping works. Quotes take time to complete as they can only be worked on in the evenings and this is why you may have to wait a few weeks. We will inform you every step of the way and happy for you to email or phone at any stage.

How to I accept a quote and book in a start date?
Just shoot us an email at [email protected]

We can discuss possible start dates with you. To secure a date, we require a 5-10% deposit, which is paid by EFT into our account. We also welcome credit card payments (2% surcharge).

How much is a design?
Our designs cost $699 + GST. The fee is paid before we commence work on your design.

How do I pay?
We will send you an invoice with the amount due via email. This will include our bank details. We also welcome credit cards (2% surcharge).

We require progress payments in stages and all this will be documented in your final quote/contract so you are well informed on the payment stages.

You can view your invoices and payments at any stage through our online portal.

What if I change my mind along the way?
That is fine!

We expect our clients to make amendments along the way. Once you see something being built you may decide on a change. Some changes are easy to make and some will incur extra charges. We will inform you of these before we commence construction. You will be invoiced for these on completion of the project.

Can I follow the progress of our project online?

The construction day starts at 7:30am and finishes at 3:30pm. We have a 10 minute morning tea break and a 30 minute lunch break.
What is the best way to recommend you to our friends?
We love it when our clients recommend us and we wouldn’t be the success we are today if it wasn’t for our client’s referrals.

There are many ways you can recommend to us. You can tell your friends to email or call us. You can tell your friends to follow us on Facebook or Instagram. Or you can give your friends our website address.

We also get a lot of clients recommending us on Inner West Buy Swap Sell and we are very grateful for those clients that take the time to type our details and recommend us.

What is the difference between a landscape designer and landscape architect?
A “landscape designer” (that’s what we are) is not a regulated or licensed title, so that could mean anything. Some landscape designers are self-taught, but most have extensive experience in the landscaping industry.

Landscape designers usually work on smaller residential projects.
A “landscape architect” must have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in landscape architecture and must be licensed by the state they work in. Their work can range from small residential projects to large scale parks and gardens.
